New partnership to achieve better educational outcomes for Tasmanians

A new partnership between TasTAFE and the University of Tasmania will result in both organisations working closely together to achieve better educational outcomes for Tasmanians.

The partnership will deliver clearer education pathways for students moving between university and Tafe or vice versa, and will also provide a single front door for Tasmanians living in rural and regional areas.

Both UTAS and TasTAFE play unique roles in providing education for Tasmanian students, and this partnership will ensure a more consistent approach is taken to ensure Tasmanians get the education that is right for them.

It also builds on the strong work the Hodgman Liberal Government has done to improve educational outcomes in Tasmania, such as extending all high schools to year 12 and committing to increase the education workforce by an additional 358 staff, including 250 additional teachers.

We want to ensure that every Tasmanian student, no matter where they live, or what their background has the best possible opportunities in life, and partnerships like this will help us deliver our long-term plan to improve the lives of Tasmanians.

TasTAFE and UTAS will now work together to implement their shared priorities and I look forward to seeing this work progress to the benefit of Tasmanian students.
