New funding for Palliative Care Tasmania

The Tasmanian majority Liberal Government is a strong supporter of providing high quality end of life care for Tasmanians.

I am pleased to announce today we will be providing an additional $1 million funding for Palliative Care Tasmania in our upcoming Budget to support services until at least 2022.

I acknowledge the outstanding work of Palliative Care Tasmania – they have been working closely with the Government for a long time now, and we know how important they are in the community.

The work of Palliative Care Tasmania is so important, not only to the individual in their last moments but also their families in providing a caring, supportive environment.

I am very impressed with the quality of Tasmanian palliative care health professionals and the depth of their commitment to patients and families going through a difficult time.
