The Liberal Government is very pleased to announce that Mark Ryan has been appointed as the new Chair of the Macquarie Point Development Corporation.
Mr Ryan has extensive commercial, operational and strategic experience, having held high-level leadership positions in the private and government sectors. He is extremely well-credentialed to lead this important development opportunity for Hobart.
Mr Ryan is currently the CEO and Managing Director at Tassal, a position he has held since 2003.
As Chair of the Macquarie Point Development Corporation he will lead the effort to maximise this important opportunity for Hobart and Tasmania.
The position of Chair was advertised in June and attracted strong interest. An independent selection panel found that Mr Ryan was the outstanding candidate for the position.
Mr Ryan takes over as Chairman from John Gilbert.
The Government would like to thank Mr Gilbert for his efforts as Chair of the Corporation over the past 18 months.
