The Hodgman Liberal Government is delivering on another Housing Summit action with the launch today of a targeted awareness campaign.
The multi-media campaign is aimed at informing and connecting Tasmanians in need with safe and affordable housing options including emergency accommodation.
It also targets property owners and developers with information on incentives to increase the supply of long term rentals and build new affordable housing.
The campaign focuses on actions broadly endorsed by stakeholders and peak bodies at the Housing Summit along with initiatives in Tasmania’s Affordable Housing Strategy 2015-2025.
It is critical that all Tasmanians are aware of the help and services available which is why the first stage of the campaign includes a new website acting as a ‘one stop shop’ for people wanting assistance.
The first stage of the campaign has involved an investment of $45,000 and includes a range of print, radio and social media advertising which will run for three weeks.
The awareness drive is just one of nine key solutions identified at the Housing Summit that we are delivering on. The Tasmanian Government is also committed to the launch of Private Rental Incentives pilot scheme and our election commitments, which include:
We are also investing a further $125 million in the second stage of our Affordable Housing Strategy, which is expected to provide an additional 1500 new affordable homes for Tasmanians, and assist around 2000 households.
