The National Energy Guarantee has taken another important step forward tonight after the COAG Energy Council approved the release of the draft National Electricity Law amendments for consultation.
This officially commences the process to implement the National Energy Guarantee, with the Council meeting to progress the legislation after a four-week consultation process.
This is an extremely pleasing and positive step forward for Tasmania and the nation.
This important step continues to build the case for increased interconnection and Tasmania’s position as the Battery of the Nation delivering clean, reliable and affordable electricity to Tasmanians and the nation.
