The signing today of a bilateral National School Reform Agreement between the Tasmanian and Australian governments provides unprecedented long-term funding certainty for Tasmanian schools.
The Agreement will see an additional $490 million to Tasmanian Government schools over the next 10 years.
Today’s bilateral agreement will provide schools with resources for students with the greatest need, through:
Tasmania has high levels of disadvantage and students with disability and this funding is targeted at these areas.
The National School Reform Agreement provides significant additional resources and support for every Tasmanian school as we continue to strive for generational change in Tasmania’s education aspirations and outcomes.
The Agreement is in addition to the Hodgman Liberal Government’s Taking Education to the Next Level initiatives, which will deliver an extra $500 million over the next 10 years.
These commitments are only made possible due to the Government’s strong financial management.
