Multicultural Tasmanians make a splash

Tasmanians from our multicultural community will have the chance to learn essential water skills, confidence and safety with the launch of the Multicultural Swimming Program in Hobart.

The Program runs for two years and is made up of twenty five six-week sessions,  teaching water familiarisation and water survival techniques to community members of all ages.

In a collaboration between the Migrant Resource Centre Tasmania and the Department of Communities Tasmania, the program will be delivered by the Hobart City Council at the Doone Kennedy Aquatic Centre.

The Hodgman Liberal Government has a goal to become the healthiest state in the nation by 2025. We know that encouraging opportunities for all Tasmanians to be active and participate in sport and recreation will help us to achieve this target.
