Multicultural grants to boost Tasmania's diversity

The Hodgman Liberal Government celebrates Tasmania’s cultural diversity and the dynamic and vibrant communities it creates.

During Harmony Week is a wonderful time to congratulate the 14 successful applicants for the Multicultural Grants Program 2017.

The Multicultural Grants Program provides $100,000 per annum for two years for projects that enhance cultural diversity and promote social cohesion, together with funding for festivals and events that showcase the vibrancy of multiculturalism and encourage the participation of the whole community.

Some of the successful applications included:

  • Hobart Human Library for Multicultural Tasmanians;
  • Launceston Alive Community Festival;
  • Tasmanian Centre for Global Learning.

The Multicultural Grants Program is one of the actions in the Tasmanian Government’s Population Growth Strategy which aims to encourage more people to move to Tasmania through job creation, migration and ensuring Tasmania is recognised as a welcoming community in which to live and work.

For further information about the Mutlicultural Grants Program please contact the Department of Premier and Cabinet on 1800 204 224 or email csrgrants@dpac.tas.gov.au
