The Hodgman Liberal Government continues to work with and support farmers and communities impacted by last June’s devastating floods.
The Government is pleased to announce today that flood affected small business owners and primary producers now have more time to access low interest loans.
The deadline for Flood Recovery Loan Scheme applications has now been extended to March 31, 2017.
Under the loan scheme, funds can be used for essential working capital or replacement and repair of damaged property and equipment not covered by insurance, as well as associated improvements.
Loans ranging from $25,000 to $200,000 are available for eligible small business and primary producers located in the designated 20 local government impact areas.
The deadline has been extended in line with other assistance measures to allow eligible applicants additional time to assess damage, finalise insurance claims, and to better understand their financial position.
Loans are offered for a maximum of seven years and an initial interest and repayment free period of up to two years is available.
This is just one way we are supporting our small businesses and primary producers to recover from the devastation of the floods and get back on their feet.
Those wishing to apply should first contact one of the Department of State Growth’s finance managers through Business Tasmania on 1800 440 026.
