More Tasmanians finding full-time work

Labour force figures released today by the Australian Bureau of Statistics confirm a surge in Tasmanians finding full-time work.

The figures show 470 full-time jobs have been created in the last month, which is up 900 from the previous year.

Since the Hodgman Liberal Government was elected in March 2014, 11,100 new jobs have now been created.

The unemployment rate has also remained steady at 6.0 per cent, well below the rate of 7.6 per cent when Labor and the Greens left office.

Our number one priority is jobs, and these figures confirm our long-term plan for the state’s future is delivering for Tasmanians.

But we know more work needs to be done, and we will continue to focus on job-creating initiatives that will help even more Tasmanians into work.
