More support for Neighbourhood Houses

Tasmania’s Neighbourhood Houses are the heart of our local communities, and the Hodgman Liberal Government is committed to supporting these important facilities and the services they provide.

That’s why we are boosting funding to the Houses by $6.7 million over three years.

The funding includes:

  • $45,000 per year, per house, to ensure the future viability of the network;
  • $2 million for further capital works; and
  • $150,000 to improve security for the Houses.

The Tasmanian Government has already invested $6 million in new funding to Neighbourhood Houses over the past four years, but we recognise demand for support at Houses around the state is increasing.

We are able to make this investment of new money to support the important work Neighbourhood Houses do because we have got the Budget back in balance.
