More signs the economy is growing under the Liberals’ long-term Plan

ABS data released today shows that under the Hodgman Liberal Government, the economy is growing and jobs are being created.

The ABS data shows that right around Tasmania, businesses have the confidence to invest and grow.

In the three months to the end of September 2015, private new capital expenditure increased by over six per cent compared to the three months ending June 2015.

That was by far the biggest increase of any state in the country.  Compared to this time last year, expenditure increased by over 16 per cent.

Under the Hodgman Liberal Government, Tasmania is well and truly open for business and these figures prove it.

Since the election, nearly 7,000 jobs have been created, there are more people working than ever before, retail trade is at record highs and as these figures show, there is a building and construction boom going on around the State.

However, there is more that can be done.  That’s why the 2015-16 Budget included a $315 million jobs plan and a $1.8 billion investment in infrastructure.
