More Labor Lies

The Hodgman Liberal Government has consistently maintained that it will not privatise any aspect of the Tasmanian Prison Service.

This includes our plans to build a new Northern Prison, capable of housing 270 prisoners after a $270 million commitment.

Labor’s latest attack suggesting otherwise is blatantly dishonest and they know it.

Josh Willie should stop wasting time spreading misinformation and actually focus on developing a corrections policy of his own.

Labor did not promise a single additional Correctional Officer at the recent election, while we have already recruited an additional 78 new correctional officers since May 2016.

In fact, Labor back-flipped on their promise to build a much needed new prison for the north of the State, instead deciding to ‘refurbish’ the horribly unsatisfactory Launceston Remand facility.

Tasmanians deserve better than these low-blow, political stunts from the Labor party.
