More Labor chaos on Commissioner for Children and Young People role

Labor is a chaotic mess with a massive split emerging between Michelle O’Byrne and Josh Willie.

On Thursday and Friday, Mr Willie called for the role of Commissioner for Children and Young People to be “strengthened”.  Mr Willie appeared to be echoing the Greens’ calls for changes to the role.

Yet today, Michelle O’Byrne seems to be backing away from that position, making excuses as to why Labor wouldn’t support changing the role of Commissioner for Children and Young People.

What does Labor actually stand for?  Do they want to change the role of Commissioner for Children and Young People, or not?  If they’ve back flipped on the position Mr Willie held on Thursday and Friday, the question is why?

Labor is all over the place and simply can’t be trusted.  They’re only interested in playing silly political games.

The Government has a clear Plan for tackling issues in the child protection system, a Plan that the outgoing Commissioner for Children and Young People himself has praised and has called on all sides of politics to support.

It’s time for Labor to stop playing games and get behind the Government’s Plan.
