More Affordable houses at Clarendon Vale

Every Tasmanian deserves to be able to rely on extra support when they need it.

That’s why the Tasmanian Liberal Government has developed an Affordable Housing Strategy which is delivering housing options for 1600 Tasmanian households who need our help.

This includes the construction of 14 new affordable houses in Clarendon Vale as part of a Better Housing Futures initiative with Mission Australia Housing.

Today’s sod turning at Clarendon Vale is an important milestone because it represents more Tasmanians being able to look forward to their own home.

The first release of 12 house and land packages have already been sold for private ownership, including first home buyers. Construction on a further two homes for social and affordable housing tenants has also started within this first release.

Another four homes will be marketed soon as part of the second release.

The Government wants to make Tasmania an even better place to live, and ensuring more people have a roof over their head is an important priority.

Building more affordable housing not only help Tasmanians in need, it also generates construction jobs and supports the local economy.
