The Hodgman Liberal Government is committed to growing the economy and creating jobs for Tasmanians.
The $3 million investment in upgraded equipment at the Cadbury factory is a fantastic vote of confidence in Tasmania’s economy and indicates the commitment of parent company Mondelez International to continue operations in Tasmania, resulting in secure employment for Tasmanians.
Cadbury has been an integral part of the Tasmanian community for 94 years and ongoing government assistance over the years has encouraged growth and viability of the business resulting in new product lines.
The recent improvements made as a result of this major investment enables the Cadbury factory to produce new Dairy Milk Chocolate Oreo blocks.
The Government, through the Department of State Growth, has worked with Cadbury over a number of years providing considerable financial support to the business.
As well as creating direct jobs for Tasmanians at the factory, Cadbury also supports our important dairy industry, ensuring sales to local producers and the economic benefits of its operations to local farmers.
It’s fantastic to see business confidence continue to grow under a majority Liberal Government, and we will continue to support investment that will grow our economy and result in employment for Tasmanians.
