Mona Foma launching Launceston onto the world stage

Launceston’s Mona Foma festival is again set to capture the imagination of locals and visitors.

It was a pleasure to join Brian Ritchie and the Mona Foma team today to highlight some of the exciting acts on show at this year’s festival.

After a hugely successful Mona Foma festival in 2019, Launceston is again ready to be thrust onto the world stage, with the festival set to light up the whole city with events, performances and art installations.

The entire city is buzzing as the festival transforms Northern Tasmania and attracts thousands of visitors from around the state and the country.

Bringing this magnificent arts and cultural festival to Launceston is part of our plan to spread the economic benefits of our booming visitor economy across the State.

The Hodgman majority Liberal Government is providing $1.75 million a year over three years to support Mona Foma as part of our $6 million events and arts package for Northern Tasmania, from 2019-2021.

Mona Foma showcases Tasmania’s fine creative industries, attracts visitors to the state and provides a massive economic boost into the local economy.
