Ministerial Transport Savings

The State Budget next week will deliver on our promises, fix the budget mess and lay the foundations for the future.

Already our Government has saved the taxpayer $27,000 in the three months to July through changes to the Ministerial transport services.

These changes are on track to deliver more than $2 million in savings over four years.

The former Labor Green Government opposed these changes. It is this lack of discipline that created the $1.1 billion budget mess we've inherited.

Our savings measures allow the flexibility to have Ministers travel by a combination of both Ministerial vehicles and chauffeured cars. From March 15 to July 8 chauffeured cars were used four times.

On those occasions, the total cost of those chauffeured cars was $988.58, while the equivalent cost for using Ministerial vehicles would have been $1,120.

We're committed to fixing the budget mess left behind by Labor and the Greens and changes to Ministerial transport services is just one way we are delivering on this.
