The Liberal Government is committed to rebuilding essential services and that is why we are investing in Men's Sheds.
The first round of the Tasmanian Men's Shed Association Grants Program has been announced with 15 Men's Sheds to share in $50,000.
The funding will support the development of the sheds, including minor works for the expansion of sheds, the purchasing of new equipment and member training and education.
The grants will support sheds in all regions, from Queenstown to St Helens and the Central Coast to Port Cygnet.
A second grant round will open in February 2015.
Tasmania's 42 Men's Sheds are an incredibly valuable community asset with more than 4,000 regular members across the state.
The Liberal Government is committed to supporting the sustainable development of Men's Sheds in Tasmania.
Men's sheds are a valuable community asset that provides a safe, supportive environment where men form friendships, learn skills and help out the local community.
We will ensure the ongoing community and economic contribution of the Men's Sheds by delivering an additional $555,000 over the next three years.
