McCain’s investment a vote of confidence

McCain’s $10 million investment in its potato processing plant at Smithton is a vote of confidence in Tasmania’s agriculture industry.

The investment will secure local jobs in the North West and importantly, McCain’s undertaking to increase production will greatly benefit local farmers who supply the processing plant, giving them confidence to invest and expand.

This investment is a clear sign that McCain sees a bright future in Tasmania and is committed to our agriculture industry.

As a Government, we are committed to investing in our competitive strengths, like agriculture, to grow the economy and create jobs.

We strongly believe that together with supporters like McCain we can grow the value of our agriculture sector ten-fold to $10 billion per year by 2050.
