Make yourself at home in Tasmania

We know we live in the best state in Australia and Tasmanians are being urged to get out and explore our beautiful Island home as part of a new Tourism Tasmania campaign.

The Make yourself at Home campaign, encourages Tasmanians to enjoy what has made our state the envy of the nation, including our high quality, unique products and experiences.

Now is the time to embrace our state’s offerings and support our local tourism and hospitality experiences, particularly following a tough few months for many Tasmanian businesses.

A recent survey commissioned by Tourism Tasmania found that 68 per cent of Tasmanians are planning to take a holiday in Tasmania in the next 12 months with a majority preferring to holiday at home than take an interstate or international trip.

We know our visitor economy is a key pillar in Tasmania, with the latest data showing prior to COVID-19 that in 2018-19, tourism directly and indirectly supported around 43,200 local jobs.

In Tasmania we are so fortunate to have internationally renowned produce, experiences and destinations to explore.

There has never been a better time to book a holiday in Tasmania and make yourself at home.
