MAIB annual report confirms no increase in premiums

The 2017-18 MAIB annual report has confirmed the Hodgman Government’s commitment to reduce the cost of living for Tasmanians.

The annual report confirms there was no increase in MAIB premiums for the year from December 1 2017, following the Government’s freeze on MAIB premiums for motor vehicles, motorcycles and taxi or luxury hire cars.  This follows a 7.5 per cent reduction in premiums the previous year.

And in further good news for vehicle owners, there will also be no general increase for MAIB vehicle premiums from 1 December this year.

We want Tasmanians to pay as little as possible for Government services, and this is more confirmation that our long-term plan is working to improve the lives of all Tasmanians.
