On behalf of the Tasmanian Government, I wish to congratulate Mrs Penny Morris, AM and Mr Greg Woolley on their appointments to the board of the Macquarie Point Development Corporation.
Mrs Morris is the current chair of the corporation’s evaluation panel for its competitive bid process, and was formerly a senior executive with Lend Lease. She has worked in the property and construction sectors for over 30 years with organisations such as Mirvac, Landcom and the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority, and in 2002 was rewarded with a Member of the Order of Australia.
Mr Woolley is also a member of the corporations evaluation panel, and is the Executive Chairman of Woolley Holdings Pty Ltd, a Sydney-based private finance and investment company. From 2000-11, he was the Chief Executive Officer of the LJCB Investment Group, one of Australia's largest private companies and the Founding Chairman of Global Aviation Asset Management.
I look forward to working with Mrs Morris and Mr Woolley in their new roles as the Macquarie Point project enters the next stage of redevelopment.
I would also like to acknowledge the efforts of the outgoing director, Heather Rose. Ms Rose has been a great contributor to the output of the board and I wish her all the best for the future.
Current board members, Mrs Kerry Adby and Mr Hadley Sides, have had their terms of appointment extended for a further two years, rounding out the necessary mix of development, finance, infrastructure and urban development skills and experience necessary for this important project.
