Love in a Lunchbox is a fantastic initiative designed to support school curriculum centred around health and physical wellbeing.
Now in its third year, the initiative challenges parents, teachers and carers to come up with innovative healthy lunch ideas for students.
During today’s open day cooking demonstrations, members of the public were able to learn how to make quick, easy and affordable recipes.
Today, I was delighted to be a part of this year’s cook off, where the skills of parents and carers were put to the test, creating easy and affordable lunches using simple healthy ingredients.
The Tasmanian Government believes that educating Tasmanians about healthy living and supporting them to make the right choices will deliver better outcomes for our students and it’s initiatives like this that will help to achieve our target to have the healthiest population by 2025 and to reduce Tasmania's rate of obesity to below the national average by 2025.
