Liquor Licencing Review Submissions Close

Public submissions on a review of the Liquor Licencing Act1990 close today.

The purpose of the review is to assess how the Act aligns with the Tasmanian Alcohol Action Framework and to identify areas of change for the Government to consider.

Public submissions will allow for the development of a package of reform proposals which the Government will look at with the aim of improving this already successful sector.

The hospitality industry is our state's third largest employer, with more than 2,000 cafes, restaurants, hotels, bed and breakfasts and accommodation venues across Tasmania.

It plays a vital role in ensuring tourists have a positive experience while exploring our island, as well as showcasing our produce.

That's why our Budget provides more than $1.5 million in funding over four years, including $800,000 for the Tasmanian Hospitality Industry Strategic Plan, $400,000 to maintain the Workforce Development Program and $300,000 to implement a Customer Service Program.

We will continue to support this important industry to grow the economy and create jobs.

Public submissions will be published on www.treasury.tas.gov.au next week.
