Liberal Government delivering results with Labor stuck on stunts

The Hodgman Liberal Government is focused on making Tasmania an even better place to live and the last fortnight in Parliament shows we’re working hard every single day to deliver for our community.

In the past two sitting weeks, 11 bills have been passed by the House of Assembly, including a number of important law and order bills, which will make our community safer.

This includes the important outlaw bikie gang bill, legislation to provide Police with body-worn cameras, legislation for Tasmania to join the National Redress scheme, and the Terrorism (Bail and Parole Restrictions) Bill, which will restrict bail or Parole in terrorism cases.

We have also announced a major push to reduce elective surgery waiting list for women’s surgeries, with $7.2m in new expenditure over the next two years.

In contrast, it’s clear the Labor Party is completely distracted by its push at their upcoming State Conference to make it easier for David O’Byrne to trigger a leadership spill and has left itself with no option but to pull stunts.

During the past fortnight, they have barely made any contribution to debate on legislation (aside from trying to kill the outlaw bikie gang bill) and have focused entirely on stunts and personal attacks.

The Majority Liberal Government will continue to focus on delivering results and making Tasmania an even better place to live.
