Liberal Government committed to keeping Tasmanians safe

Yesterday's release of annual crime figures is a reminder of the need to be tough on crime.

While it is encouraging that more criminals than ever are being caught, charged, and kept off the street, it is clear that there is still a lot more to do.

That's why a re-elected majority Liberal Government will make keeping Tasmanians safe one of our key priorities.

In contrast, Labor and the Greens are soft on crime, oppose tougher sentences for child sex offenders, oppose protections for our police officers, oppose abolishing suspended sentences, and want to legalise dangerous drugs.
