Today, Bryan Green has proved why you simply can’t trust Labor with money.
In his budget reply, over four years, Mr Green spent a net total of over $185 million.
This unfunded spending would drive Tasmania back into deficit, and put at risk essential services into the future.
Notably, Mr Green failed to confirm Labor’s support for previous policies they have announced such as:
Does Mr Green still stand by these policies, or does he now agree with the Government position?
I also note that Mr Green has used an accounting trick of announcing many policies over 10 years. This is an attempt to make Labor’s promises look better, and to hide the true impact of their spending on the budget bottom line over the forward estimates.
Below is Labor’s spending announced today, over the budget and forward estimates.*
