Liberal members for Braddon, Adam Brooks and Joan Rylah, said Labor's announcement today about the Arthur-Pieman was laughable.
"In her entire press release, Ms White failed to mention the Arthur-Pieman tracks once, let alone commit to supporting them being reopened", Mr Brooks said.
"The fact is, Labor are hopelessly captive to the Greens and there is no doubt another Labor-Green minority Government would close these tracks forever."
``It seems to me like they want to spend $3 million to keep the tracks shut!’’
Mrs Rylah said frighteningly, a Labor Government would usher in a return to Commonwealth interference in conservation in Tasmania.
``We all know that led to lockup and lock-out with zero consultation or care for locals both aboriginal or non-aboriginal,’’ Mrs Rylah said.
``Labor's commitment around a consultative committee is also meaningless.
"I have spoken to Minister Groom and following my lobbying, he has assured me that the local management committee will be re-established as soon as possible.
"I also note that two-thirds of the funds from today's announcement are from federal Labor, and given a federal election is still two years away, it means this is a hollow promise which can't be delivered."
