Labor’s fence sitting broadens to seals

It is hardly surprising that Labor have failed to announce a position after our announcement to cease seal relocations by Christmas.

While Dr Broad has been whinging about my integrity to stand up for my constituents in Braddon, I have been working with the Minister for Primary Industries and Water to address issues raised with me by North West recreational and commercial fishers.

I am a strong supporter of Tasmania’s salmon industry and the jobs it supports, but the controversial practice of seal relocations is unsustainable.

This Labor Opposition is an absolute embarrassment when it comes to the tough issues and, rather than offering alternative policies, continue to sit on the fence.

In addition to being soft on seals, Labor are also soft on salmon, and have no official position on the reopening of the Arthur-Pieman 4WD tracks.

You would think Dr Broad would actually want community support at the next election - I would advise that he and Labor actually provide the people of Tasmania with a policy position on key issues for once.
