White sets new low for Estimates

Rebecca White has set a disgusting new low standard of behaviour in an unprecedented display of gutter politics at Budget Estimates today.

But what do you expect from a leader who couldn’t even concede defeat or congratulate the Premier on election night.

As leader, it is Ms White’s role to set the example for other Labor members. But clearly, Ms White is not prepared to lead from the front - no wonder David O’Byrne had to step in part way through scrutiny of DPAC.

Budget Estimates is a day for scrutinising the budget, yet today Labor attacked unelected staff, created conspiracy theories and blatantly made stuff up.

In an unprecedented new low Labor ‘played the man’ time and time again, attacking the head of the state service, a deputy secretary and several heads of agencies.

In one of her many conspiracy theories, Ms White peddled the claim that the routine upgrade of computers was tantamount to destroying evidence – wrong.

And, facts clearly mean nothing to Ms White who just simply made up that the Premier travelled interstate at the taxpayer’s expense during care-taker – wrong again.

Tasmanians deserve more from their Opposition.
