Labor Opposed to Workers' Rights

Labor continues to show contempt for Tasmanian workers by opposing legislation that will protect them from radical protesters.

Bryan Green has failed to heed the message of the March election when Tasmanians condemned Labor for standing with the Greens against workers.

The Workplaces (Protection against Protesters) Bill is aimed fairly and squarely at protecting the rights of workers, particularly in those industries targeted by radical environmentalists, to lawfully earn a living.

With the passing of this Bill, Tasmania will have the strongest such laws in the country, sending the clear message that you have the right to free speech and peaceful protest, you do not have the right to stop others from working.

Labor's opposition to this legislation makes a lie of its claimed support for those industries under attack from the radicals, including forestry and mining.

Only the Liberal Government is standing up for the rights of Tasmanians to go out about their lawful work without interference from radical protesters.
