Cabinet approved the fast tracking of the dedicated Health Recruitment, Retention and Workforce Planning Unit on the 22nd of March, 2018 which is well within the first 30 days of Government.
The position of permanent Director of the Unit will be advertised nationally tomorrow.
As for the Clinical Planning Taskforce, the Department has finalised its Terms of Reference and there has been a Project Lead appointed. The Secretary has and continues to consult right across the State, including recently with the RHH Medical Staff Association.
Only the Hodgman Liberal Government has a long term plan for health which was endorsed by the Tasmanian people at the State election.
In contrast, Labor leader Rebecca White dumped the shadow health portfolio at her first opportunity following the election.
