Labor lies on Cricket Australia matter

Sarah Lovell’s attempt to try to implicate the Government in an employment decision made by Cricket Australia is wrong.

Labor has a shameful track record of resorting to personal attacks and false claims to attempt to trash reputations and damage the Government. It’s clear that they are intent on remaining in the gutter.

These are the facts:

  • The Government is not responsible for HR decisions made by Cricket Australia.
  • No member of the Tasmanian Government has sought to pressure, complain or seek action from Cricket Australia or Cricket Tasmania on anything Ms Williamson has published or said publicly.
  • Any suggestion that the Government has disclosed private information, not on the public record, to either Cricket Australia or Cricket Tasmania is false.
  • The Government has always had a good working relationship with Ms Williamson.

It’s time for Labor to stop the muckraking.

Using someone’s personal circumstances for political advantage is disgusting behaviour and it should stop.

There are legal proceedings occurring between Ms Williamson and Cricket Australia and it is a matter for these parties to resolve.
