Labor desperation on minority government

In Labor’s latest attempt to hide the fact they will do another deal with the Greens, they have tried to misquote me.

What I actually said was if we were asked by the Governor to test our numbers on the floor of Parliament, there is no doubt  that Labor and the Greens would vote against us and vote themselves into a Labor-Green minority Government, that is if they hadn’t already done a deal.

What Labor claims I said:

“Let’s say for example, the community, there was a return to a minority government and the Hodgman Government was instructed to try the numbers on the floor of the house. Let’s say if that happened. So what would happen is, we would, we would come in, under the leadership of the current Premier. We would come in and as a minority government, and we would effectively try and form a government, under the instruction.”

What I actually said:

“Let us say, for example, that there was a return to a minority government.  The Hodgman government was instructed to try the numbers on the floor of the House.  What would happen is we would come in under the leadership of the current Premier we would come in and as a minority government and effectively try to form a government under the instruction.  What would happen, those opposite would move a motion of no confidence in the government on the first day.”

The simple facts are there are only two choices – a majority Hodgman Liberal Government or a minority Labor-Green Government.
