A cable car on kunanyi/Mount Wellington is now one step closer to reality following the passing of the Cable Car Facilitation (kunanyi/Mount Wellington) Bill 2017 through the House of Assembly.
A cable car would be fantastic for tourism and showcase one of our most stunning natural landmarks, make the pinnacle more accessible to more people and it would create new jobs for Tasmanians.
The idea of a cable car on kunanyi/Mount Wellington has been around for over 100 years and it has taken a majority Liberal Government to progress real action on this exciting proposal.
We now look forward to the Bill being debated in the Legislative Council.
