Job seekers to benefit under Growth Industries Program

The Hodgman Liberal Government is committed to creating jobs in growing industries that will drive our state’s growth and productivity.

I am pleased to announce young Tasmanian job seekers will benefit from $163,675 in funding to be provided to Aged Care Services Tasmania and Australian Employment and Training Solutions, under our Work Readiness for Growth Industries Program.

This funding will give young Tasmanians the opportunity to receive introductory training in aged care hospitality, therefore developing a career pathway to work in this growing sector.

It’s great news for those wanting a job or career in expanding sectors and we will continue to explore initiatives that result in better employment outcomes for young Tasmanians.

In further good news, the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) has been awarded a $75,000 grant to provide independent support to employers in the Work Readiness for Growth Industry Program.

The TCCI will assist employers in growth industries with general employment advice, workplace visits and mentoring services and share their work readiness expertise.

Participating employers will also be able to gain recognition as a ‘worker ready’ business through the Worker Ready Accreditation website to be hosted by the TCCI.
