Investing in New Visitor Experiences

Tasmania’s visitor economy is booming with more tourists coming to our shores than ever before.

The Liberal Government understands that we cannot rest on our laurels but must continually do more to ensure we remain an attractive destination by offering exciting new visitor experiences.

That’s why we encourage Tasmanian businesses in the tourism industry to consider applying for assistance under the Australian Government’s Tourism Demand-Driver Infrastructure (TDDI) funding program.

Administered in Tasmania by the Department of State Growth, expressions of interest are now open for TDDI grants, with $775,025 of matched funding available.

Successful projects under the program will be those that contribute to Tourism 2020 outcomes by driving demand, improving quality and increasing tourism expenditure.

We have a vision of attracting 1.5 million visitors a year to Tasmania by 2020, but to achieve that, and to sustain such visitation into the future, we need to ensure the experiences we offer meet and surpass expectations.

Interested businesses will need to be quick as expressions of interest for this round of the TDDI program close on 8 August.
