Integrity Commission update report

The Government welcomes the release of the Integrity Commission’s progress update report on enhancing accountability mechanisms for members of parliament and ministerial staff.

We are committed to ensuring accountability and we have noted the comments contained in the progress report.

Ministerial staff are already subject to ministerial staff conduct requirements as part of their instrument of appointment.

The ministerial staff conduct requirements will now be publically available to view on the Department of Premier and Cabinet website, in line with the Integrity Commission’s recommendation.

We will also consider the recommendation of extending the Parliamentarian's register of interests to include family members.

The development of a code of conduct for the Legislative Council is a matter for the Legislative Council to consider.
