The North-West is home to some of Tasmania’s most stunning natural locations, and I am pleased to announce upgrades have now been completed at Trowutta Arch and Dip Falls
The Hodgman Liberal Government is committed to strategic investment to ensure our natural areas can reach their full tourism potential, and these upgrades will result in a greatly improved visitor experience for all visitors to enjoy.
The works at both sites have been completed by AJR Construct of Devonport, adding money into the local economy and supporting jobs in line with our Buy Local Policy.
At Dip Falls, the completion of a new stairway will allow visitors to admire the spectacular view and natural wonder of the falls.
The $220,000 upgrade to the stairs follows the installation of a new viewing platform at the base of the falls last year and completes a 2014 election commitment to provide a safer viewing experience at the falls.
At Trowutta Arch along North-west Tasmania’s Tarkine Drive, upgrades have transformed a rough and muddy path into a graded, well-drained gravel track thanks to a $45,000 Tasmanian Government Tourism Infrastructure In Parks project grant.
The completion of these projects is a great demonstration of the Government’s ongoing commitment to the state’s booming nature-based tourism industry that supports countless jobs and attracts visitors to the state
