Hydro water levels

Tasmania continues to face challenging and difficult energy circumstances as a result of the unprecedented combination of record low spring rainfall, and the Basslink outage.

Hydro Tasmania has advised that the updated water storage level for this week is18.3 per cent, down from 18.9 per cent a week ago.

Hydro Tasmania continues to advise that based on known facts storages will reduce to about 14 per cent before gradually rebuilding over winter.

The Government will continue to stay in close communication with Basslink to understand the progress of the repair work. We expect Basslink will provide a further public update this week.

The Tasmanian people can be assured that the Government will continue do everything necessary to ensure that energy security is maintained.
