Prospect Park is set for a major upgrade thanks to a $113,000 contribution from the Hodgman Government.
Each year, around 450 men and women play football at Prospect Park and these upgrades to the surface and also lighting will ensure the ground is able to host a range of sports all year round, even in wet weather.
The Government is committed to supporting grassroots sports right around Tasmania because it brings the community together, it encourages people to be active and healthy and investments like this also provide a shot in the arm to the local economy as the upgrades are rolled out.
This funding is a demonstration of our $14 million commitment to investing in important community facilities and increase spending on public infrastructure by twenty per cent over the next four years.
