Helping to grow Tasmania’s screen industry and supporting local jobs

The Hodgman Liberal Government is committed to creating jobs for our young jobseekers.

Accordingly, I am very pleased the Government is investing $65,000 in a workforce development plan for the screen industry to identify career pathways into the sector and support more local jobs and business opportunities.

This plan will allow the screen industry to map out career pathways into this sector for young Tasmanians and support professional development in this growing industry.

Even better, increasing the profile of Tasmania’s premium brand will also support jobs in our booming tourism, hospitality and retail sectors by attracting more people to Tasmania.

This investment is part of a broader package of $425,000 in Government funding for new workforce development initiatives to increase workforce participation and create more jobs for local workers across a broad range of sectors.

By fostering a skilled workforce and building investment confidence in Tasmania’s businesses and service providers, we are building a stronger economy and providing real career options for our young jobseekers.
