Healthy Tasmania community grants available

The Hodgman Liberal Government is proud to launch the first round of Healthy Tasmania Community Innovation Grants worth $500,000, for local activities that promote healthy lifestyles in the state.

Healthy Tasmania Community Innovation Grants of up to $25,000 are available to support healthy eating, physical activity, quit smoking initiatives and encourage community connections and partnerships.

The community-based grants are one of 24 actions under the Healthy Tasmania Five Year Strategic Plan – a Hodgman Government and community partnership.

The whole-of-government preventive health plan aims to make Tasmanians the healthiest population in Australia by 2025.

Communities are encouraged to identify specific areas they want to address and how potential new activities will support or fill gaps in current approaches.

Community groups can apply for up to $25,000 for a project lasting up to 12 months.

Applications close at 5pm, September 15 and funds will be available in October and November 2017.
