Head of Screen Tasmania role advertised

The Hodgman Liberal Government is a strong supporter of our arts and cultural industries.

In recent years, our screen industry has gone from strength to strength, with a number of major Australian and international productions being filmed in the state and the quality of local content continuing to rise.

Next weekend advertisements for a new head of Screen Tasmania will run in national media.

Screen Tasmania is the State Government agency responsible for supporting and developing the state's film, television and multimedia industries by increasing the amount of independent screen production occurring in Tasmania.

The role of the Executive Manager will be to facilitate and encourage innovation and entrepreneurial development in the Screen Industry in Tasmania by operating as the principal point of contact between government and industry.

The Executive Manager will provide expert advice to the Minister for Arts and the Government to support the continual development of the screen industries in Tasmania (including film, television and digital sectors) through investment, industry development, policy advice and advocacy.

An essential requirement for the role will be extensive experience and understanding of the Australian screen industry and/or tertiary qualifications related to production management within the Australian screen industry.

The position will be advertised nationally on October 17 and is expected to attract a competitive pool of applicants from across the country.
