Growth in Housing Finance

Today’s ABS Housing Finance figures reinforces that the Hodgman Liberal Government’s long-term Plan to grow the economy to create jobs is working.

In the year to February 2015, the number of housing finance commitments for first homebuyers increased by 3.1 per cent.

Overall the total number of housing finance commitments increased by 0.7  per cent compared to the same time last year and the value of commitments was up 5.3 per cent over the same period.

Today's figures come off the back of positive jobs growth, with around 6,000 jobs created since last year’s election, business confidence the highest in the country and record retail sales.

While there is still a long way to go, we can see the economy is recovering under the Hodgman Liberal Government.
