Circular Head is one of our most productive regions, and has the potential to become a truly must-see destination for visitors to our State.
From the iconic Nut to the rugged coast, along with Aboriginal and colonial sites of cultural and heritage significance, the region has many attractions.
The Liberal Government has partnered with the local community and with the Cradle Coast Authority to produce a Destination Action Plan (DAP) for Circular Head.
This is about growing regional tourism so that communities right across Tasmania share in the benefits of the visitor economy, particularly through creating new jobs –our Government’s number one priority.
The DAP seeks to understand the challenges facing the local tourism industry in reaching its potential and prioritises projects aimed at developing an enhanced visitor experience.
The better the experience for our visitors, the longer they will stay, the more they will spend and the more likely they will be to come back and also to tell others.
A Circular Head Destination Action Plan Leadership Group will be formed to assist in the implementation of the many actions identified in the plan.
Actions include:
As we head towards our goal of 1.5 million visitors a year by 2020, it is more important than ever that we work with local communities such as Circular Head to give visitors the best experience possible, wherever they journey to in Tasmania.
