Greens slap in the face for Northern Tasmania

The Greens and Andrea Dawkins have abandoned Northern Tasmania and her party has shown itself as a major threat to jobs and tourism in regional Tasmania.

The Greens alternative budget clearly identifies that it will axe funding for Hawthorn playing at UTAS Stadium, the Supercars at Symmons Plains and a ``significant’’ cut in expenditure for Tourism Tasmania.

Bass Greens MHA Andrea Dawkins has failed to stand up for Northern Tasmania and has clearly been rolled by her Hobart-centric boss Cassy O’Connor who is happy to fund North Melbourne games in Hobart, rather than upset her Denison voters.

This is an absolute disgrace and it is time Ms Dawkins stood up for Northern Tasmanians who love seeing the Hawks and others who get work when the thousands of tourists visit Launceston.

Tourism has been has one of success stories of the Tasmanian economy, especially creating jobs in regional Tasmania like the mountain bikes in Derby, and yet the Greens are prepared to abandon these people and shut down Tasmania.

The inexperience of new Labor leader Ms White and the Hobart-centric zealots in the Greens makes this an even more dangerous combination than the previous Labor-Green disaster that spiralled Tasmania into recession.
