Greens reveal forest hypocrisy once again

The Tasmanian Greens have continued with their job-destroying crusade this week with their calls to stop harvesting of the Frankland coupes.

The Frankland harvest was agreed under the Tasmanian Forest Agreement, and was approved by the Greens, the Wilderness Society, and the Australian Conservation Foundation.

Wood harvested from these areas is required to protect the jobs of timber workers in the North-West.

The double-standards of the Greens have been revealed once again. Why was it ok for this coupe to be harvested when the Greens were in Government, but not under the Liberals?

Measures to protect threatened species are in place. These are the same actions that would have been applied if operating under the TFA, so they cannot claim this as the reason for their change of heart.

This comes after their sustained attacks on Tasmania’s tourism and Aquaculture industries. Their promises of protecting and growing jobs in regional areas are nothing more than hollow words, said on camera purely as a veil to hide their true intent to lock up forests and destroy Tasmanian industry and jobs.

This is nothing more than political point-scoring stunt to appease the perpetual protest brigade.
