The anti-everything Greens have sunk to a new low with their opposition to Cold Chisel playing at Wrest Point.
Cold Chisel is one of Australia's most loved bands and Tasmania's inclusion on their tour is a great show of thanks to their supporters here, as well as a sign of confidence in our economy and ability to bring quality entertainment to the state.
Cassy O'Connor's criticism is a sad reflection of the Greens' psyche- they will oppose anything, even a world-renowned musical act, if it gains them even a scrap of political mileage. Fortunately, her comments have clearly backfired and turned her into a laughing stock.
The Hodgman Government supports any act from anywhere that wants to come to Tasmania and provide quality entertainment. We trust that those who choose to go to the concert will enjoy themselves, act responsibly and ensure more bands are encouraged to visit Tasmania.
